Anthropic finds domain expertise still improves agentic coding outcomes
Anthropic's privacy-preserving analysis of about 400,000 Claude Code sessions found that people usually made planning decisions while Claude handled execution. Domain experts achieved higher success and recovered from errors more effectively, while users across major occupations completed coding tasks at similar average rates to software engineers.
