Why it moved the index
The large first-party labor dataset directly tests a DoomBench displacement pathway. AI engineering hiring rose 25% year over year and AI-agent skill additions accelerated sharply, but hiring fell less in high-exposure roles such as software engineering than in lower-exposure roles such as nursing. This is meaningful counterevidence to broad near-term displacement, while remaining observational and unable to rule out narrower or later effects.
