Meta launches Muse personal agent for email, purchases, and long-running tasks

Meta launched Muse in the US as a consumer agent that can send email, book travel, fill forms, negotiate, make purchases, build tools, coordinate subagents, and continue working after the user closes the app. A separate Sentinel controls network access and sensitive actions.

Why it moved the index

Muse places long-running, tool-building, multi-agent autonomy into a free consumer product connected to email, payments, browsers, and private data. That materially expands consequential real-world agency. Meta also documents strong containment measures, including an isolated VM, credential separation, scoped approvals, Sentinel-controlled egress, audit trails, adversarial testing, and a public bug bounty, which reduce but do not remove the new deployment risk.
